Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Lady Knights Soccer Kicks It In Gear

The NCHS Lady Knights soccer program recently opened their second season on Monday, March 2 with a 2-1 win over Columbia High School’s varsity team. Sophomore Alexis Hackworth scored both goals to lead the Knights and freshman goalie Assata Kirkley made seven saves. The Lady Knights then went on to defeat Airport High School’s JV team by a score of 6-1. Eighth grader Chloe Grein led the team with three goals. Sophomores Alexis Hackworth and Jessica Rutherford, and freshman Olivia Walsh each scored a goal as well. On March 17, the Lady Knights also defeated region rival Andrew Jackson’s JV team by a score of 2-1. The score was tied with three minutes left in the game, and eighth grader Chloe Grein kicked the winning goal. Sophomore goalie Olivia Brillinger made a great save during a penalty kick to ensure the victory. The Lady Knights will take on Buford High School’s varsity team at home on March 20 at 6:00pm.
